Blood is Thicker than Water
Blood is Thicker than Water
Question:Hey, alright, so this past weekend I was hanging out with my friend at my cottage, when she started talking rudely about my family, who was also there with us. So I freaked. We aren’t speaking, and she went home early.
Am I wrong here?
-Katherine
Answer:Family is the most important relationship that we can ever have, hence the saying of “blood is thicker than water.” Katherine, I’m very proud of you. You held up firm where others would have faltered... You are completely in the right for standing up for your family.
Your insolent friend, who was not only feeding off of your family resources (the cottage), felt compelled to discredit them because she is extremely self centered. In my opinion, this girl needs a serious attitude adjustment and lesson in manners.
You had every right to freak out on this girl. Honestly, this girl definitely lacks class. It’s the same reason as to when you eat at a friends’ house, you never tell the family that the food was horrible. It’s called tact, which is something her parents never taught her about.
I know this sounds petty, but I wouldn’t talk to her until she apologizes. She needs to learn some form of a lesson. I wouldn’t want to be friends with anyone who makes fun of my family. How do you think she would feel if you started ripping on her family?
I definitely give you two thumbs up Katherine. Don’t ever let people talk down about your family. If this girl doesn’t realize how inconsiderate she has been, then you don’t want to be friends with her in the first place.
