Enjoying the sunny California summer weather, Charlize Theron celebrated her 33rd birthday (which was on August 7th) at her beach house in Malibu on Saturday (August 9).

The Academy Award-winning actress was surrounded by family and friends for the special occasion, with guests including Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka.

Meanwhile, Charlize has offered up her support to battle cancer in an upcoming television fundraiser later this month, organizers recently announced.

According to press reports, "The event, Stand Up to Cancer, will air simultaneously and commercial-free on three rival U.S. TV networks - ABC, CBS and NBC - during prime-time hours, and organizers hope to raise millions of dollars to fight the disease."
