Eva Mendes was on hand for the 2nd annual Linked Against Leukemia gala at Capitale in New York City on Wednesday night (May 7).

Wearing a lovely black strapless dress, the recently rehabbed We Own the Night actress posed for event photographers before visiting with fellow attendees including event honoree Cindy Crawford.

And while she's been taking advantage of a break in her career duties over the past few months, Eva will soon be teaming up with Josh Hartnett and Ben Kingsley in the drug-trafficking drama “Queen of the South”.

Press reports tell that "Elizabeth Avellan and Sandra Condito will produce the adaptation of Spanish writer Arturo Perez-Reverte's novel about a Mexican woman turned Spanish drug lord (Mendes) out to avenge her boyfriend's murder."
