Stars Turn Out For 2008 Costume Institute Gala
In the entertainment business all eyes were on New York City, as celebrities turned out in the droves to attend the star-studded Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Tuesday night (May 5).
Drawing the likes of Katie Holmes, Gisele Bundchen and their Tom's, along with Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez and many more, the Costume Institute gala was put on by Vogue magazine.
This year, the annual affair celebrated the Institute's new exhibit called "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy".
"Superheroes are about issues of the body, identity and transformation, about acting your fantasies and transforming yourself into anyone or anything you want to be," said Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton. "Those are all the things at the heart of fashion."
