If you thought the ongoing divorce battle between Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills was anywhere near over, you may want to think again. According to press, London Court 34 has been booked for this Monday in order to continue the “bitter war of words” between the former Beatle and his former wife. And the stakes are huge- since McCartney is worth an estimated $1.6 billion, the judge’s ruling could have serious ramifications for either side of the case. The poor chap who has to decide the divorce settlement is Mr Justice Bennett, and after Monday’s proceedings, he’ll have to decide whether he has heard enough to be able to give a ruling on how McCartney and Mills will split the assets. However, even after Bennett’s ruling, either party is entitled to file a request with an appellate court to dispute the outcome. And then things will get ugly, as courtroom proceedings in an appeals court are public domain.
