Situated in South Beach since departing out of LAX Airport on Friday, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck made the trip to the sunshine state with politics on the agenda.

And last night (August 2), Jen and Ben attended a fundraiser in support of presidential candidate Barack Obama, as the high-price ticket event was also attended by Affleck's longtime pal Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso.

Telling why she supports the Illinois senator, Ms Garner told press: "Ultimately I felt inspired by him and I don't think anyone in our generation has had that experience."

Backing his man, Matt Damon added: "It comes down to a simple choice for all of us. If you like the direction the country is going, you should vote for McCain. But if you want a candidate who rejects those policies but has a vision, then Obama's your guy!"

Following the swanky Barack fundraiser, Affleck and Garner then headed off to a nearby South Beach eatery, meeting Damon and Barroso for a dinner date in celebration of their politically productive evening.
