She’s the latest British songstress to win the hearts of American pop music fans, and last night Leona Lewis was busy schmoozing with fellow celebs at the 2008 NewNowNext Awards in New York City at MTV Studios.

The “Bleeding Love” singer looked beautiful, as usual, in a classic black tank-style dress with plenty of trendy chunky jewelry and her charming smile.

According to hitmaker Ne-Yo, Miss Lewis’ massive talent with continue to ‘carry her in the US.’ And he should know- he wrote the track “I’m You” for Leona’s debut album Spirit.

Describing her as a “beautiful person, inside and out,” Ne-Yo sang Lewis’ praises, telling press, “She’s not just a pretty face – her voice is undeniable.”
