Que Hiciste by Jennifer Lopez

Reviewing Jennifer Lopez’s new hit song “Que Hiciste” was difficult for me, largely because I don’t fluently speak Spanish and didn’t know what J-Lo was singing about. I must say though, I think I enjoy her singing in Spanish better than English. Maybe it’s because I don’t have to try and piece together the lyrics to make any sense, but there is something that seems so natural about J-Lo singing in Spanish.
Regardless, the video was very well shot, there is a simple cinematic quality to it and not so much junk in the trunk action. I can assume that “Que Hiciste” deals with a transition taking place by a woman who has been emotionally spurned by a lover. The song was so inspirational that I even went and looked up the translation for the song’s title, which means “that you did.” Hey, who says we don’t learn something new everyday?
